We LOVED doing this as a family, actually can't wait to do it next year. It is so easy to adapt to your family and although we only made it through 7 out of the 14 activities I had planned, it's ok, (we made it to Baby Jesus). I still had to make it simpler for the boys, I liked having a running theme or concept that Levi could remember; it seemed to make it stick. However, I can see this advent celebration growing with us! A+
Christmas in Connecticut
We left Friday, Dec. 20th at 1:30pm and arrived in CT, Saturday around 2am. Kids did great considering the long drive; they took a nap for awhile at the start, then were in and out until about 9pm, then slept until we got there. After unloading and getting the kid's bedrooms set-up we didn't hit the hay until about 3am. But, Praise the Lord, the kids slept until 8am, so we can't complain too much!
Here's some of the highlights from our week:

Playtime around the table was awesome with Grammie's train track.
The ultimate fun was found downstairs. Levi called it paddle-ball, but he was saying ping-pong by the end of the week. He was actually surprisingly really good, he could serve the ball over the net, kinda crazy.

After the cake Levi and Si were pretty hyped up. (Probably from the whole cup of coffee I threw in the cake, huh, Grammie?) Anyway, here Levi is protecting his "queen" from a witch (Grampy).

Christmas morning: We went through the book "What God wants for Christmas" and put the nativity scene together.
Then it was off to eat some cinnamon rolls. Here Levi is trying to be like Daddy and show his muscles.

But wait...
Christmas isn't over yet. We left on Saturday, Dec. 28th and made it back in around 2 am on Sunday. That night it was Christmas with my Mom and Dad, Pa and Gee! We sure do know how to make a big deal out of Jesus' birthday!

We are SOOOO blessed! We don't deserve it, none of us do, but we really are thankful for safety and health and presents! The boys had a blast with their CT family and we enjoyed this Christmas so much more watching the joy in our children's faces. Countdown for next year!
