Week 48: So Much to be Thankful For

Sunday Nov. 24th- Saturday, Nov. 30th

Sunday:

The boys are beginning to play together for longer periods of time, I'm talking 30 minutes or so before things get interesting!;) But this is sooooo nice for this Mommy, I can cook dinner and everything now... Lord-willing it will last!

Si is getting techie on me now, here he somehow grabbed my phone turned it on, unlocked it, turned on the camera and took a picture....what? He knows how good he did too because he LOVES looking at this picture now! Haha!

Here we are doing our nigthtime routine this is what works for us:

1. Set a timer for 5 minutes while we are still playing.
2. Clean-up time after it goes off.
3. Daddy helps the boys brush teeth, Mommy gets everyone's PJ's ready.
4. Levi goes with Mommy to get dressed; Si with Daddy.
5. Levi picks out a book and crawls in his bed.
6. Si comes back in, picks out a book and crawls up in Levi's bed.
7. Read, read!
8. We then go around and say one thing that we want to thank God for and we pray.
9. Mommy sings to Levi then goes and sings to Si.
10. Nighty-night!

This works for us, it's a team effort and usually takes somewhere between 20-30 minutes, and it's done somewhere between 8:00-8:15.

Monday-Tuesday

Monday was cold, but the boys still headed outside once Daddy got home from hunting. We are already getting cabin fever, going to be a long winter in that respect. I sent them outside to gather some twigs and leaves up for our Thankful Tree we are going to do this week. It's so easy to just let Thanksgiving pass you by and I'm resisting the urge to put up Christmas decorations just yet because I really do want us to focus on the meaning of Thanksgiving. So here's the plan, make the twigs look like a tree; do some leaf rubbings, cut the leaves out and write one thing we are thankful for everyday until Thanksgiving or perhaps the whole week. Plus, work on memorizing Psalm 100:4 and sing the song that goes along with it, "I will Enter His Gates".

The boys braving the elements and playing ball:

On the hunt for twigs and leaves. This pic cracks me up!

The Thankful Tree:

Look at these two cutie pies, sure am enjoying my week off with them!

Wednesday:

Beautiful Snowy Day! This was Si's first time out in the stuff, he really didn't know what to think!

Walking like a BIG Giant!

Haha, poor, cold baby!

We warmed up by doing some pumpkin carving tonight. It's always too busy for us around Halloween with soccer tournaments being that time so we thought this was the perfect week.

Thursday:

Happy Thanksgiving! We enjoyed a feast with Grandma Bell at Pa and Gee's house! Then it was time to literally pull out the Christmas tree that my mom leaves in the laundry room all year and turn the lights on and bring out the presents. The boys had too much fun!

Friday-Saturday

Had a nice two days with some dear friends!

Levi picked out a present for Uriah's birthday that we had a few weeks ago.

Pillsbury Doughboy van, don't know where he came up with that! haha!

My attempt to get the boys together, they never stayed in one place this weekend!

Cinnamon Rolls this morning. Si made a snake and kept making the hissing sound, so cute!

Playing the forever long Settlers game among the toddlers, interesting.

Awesome, blesssed week of food, family and friends!

God is so good!
