Week 52

Sunday, December 23rd

Church at Christian Fellowship in CT, always great to be back, and then back to the house to celebrate the Sharp Christmas.

Monday, December 24th

John, myself and Josiah went for a last minute Wal-mart run for some last minute gifts, yes we are one of "those" people!

Then we had Christmas Eve service at CFC, good night. After church Levi ran around saying "Grampy, eat chips" so there you have it.

Friday, December 28th

We left CT this afternoon during the boys' nap time and we probably won't do that again. We were literally in traffic for the first four hours, I mean stop and go traffic, it was terrible. Praise the Lord it wasn't snowing or raining or anything, but it was an awful time to try to get around NYC. We also drove through Newtown, CT. It was so sad to see the Exit that said Newtown, Sandy Hook and the sign that said Schoolhouse Hill Road. I just prayed the whole time. There were beautiful homes everywhere and it just made you wonder how something so tragic could have happened two weeks prior in such a beautiful place. My heart still aches for those families, it was a very solemn experience.


Josiah and Levi did absolutely amazing this trip. I actually think it may have helped Levi learn a little bit more in the self-control department (I'll probably eat those words later). Josiah slept literally the whole time and Levi took a little nap then went back to sleep around 9pm. We had to make a gas stop in Covington, VA which is two hours away from home and both boys stayed up for that, so from midnight until 2am they were awake but not crying or anything. It actually worked out well because when we got home they were ready to go back to sleep. until 8:30. Not too bad.

Again, we just Praise God for taking care of us on another stressful trip!
